Can a few of you look at the following links and let me know which one you reccommend.

Sorry so cheap, most money in the house is heading to the North Pole at his time and I do not mean Peter.

Thanks,
I personally would go with the first one on your list. It supports Direct X 11, it's the cheapest after rebates, free shipping, and Sapphire usually puts out a good card. Make sure your monitors are compatible with it's output jacks. As a matter of fact, unless someone posts something horrible about this card, I think I'm going to get one myself, although it kills me to give up my Nvidia card. :)

Wow, good to hear I may get through this upgrade on the cheap!

This one is the same card only it has faster RAM, for the same price ... hurry though if you're thinking about this card, the rebate offer is only valid until 12/31/10.

But what about graphics adapters built into the mobo, are they competitive with a dedicated graphics card?

Well my new Saphire card is installed, fanless and much quieter than the last card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102882
I went with Bub's reccommendation. So far no random restarts BSOD's but I haven't even used SOnar yet, however I was getting them without even using SOnar. Seems like my system is now ready to use X1, Will buy this weekend, see you on the other side!.

I got the same card ... just put it in today. So far so good. :) I haven't got X1 yet either but I'm looking forward to it. I read a bunch of reviews on the Sapphire card and I haven't read one bad word about it which is very reassuring. Some people are even using them for gaming without overclocking them.

Can a video card lead to a noisy system? By that I mean I have a friend running Reaper on his home PC, and when he opens windows, drags things around, or bounces to tracks etc.....you hear all this digital chatter in his speakers. Is that the card or just a cheap motherboard? He's using an Nvidia GT 220 and his DPCs are a bit high as well. I have a similar build, but use an Nvidia GeForce 9500. It works quite well for me even though it's 2 years old.

If you not a gamer, I highly recommend AMD Firepro. They are very reasonably priced and designed specifically for computer workstations. My V4900 which I got at Newegg for about $150 not only completely smoothed out and greatly enhanced SONAR X2's Skylight interface, it turned Sony Vegas Pro 11 into a fire breathing dragon for video editing and rendering.
