It was not doing it in the begging though, and if that is the case how would I go about changing them so that they are consistent with each other.

sorry, but your problem may for sure be caused by your audio interface. this one's not made for music production
 
you really should consider buying one that is.
you can get a quite good one for aound US$150 today
 
check out focusrite's scarlet series for example
 
meanwhile; try and download and install ASIO4ALL and see if it workes better after that. you need to activate the ASIO-driver in Sonar after the install

Hi,first,you must use ASIO4ALL.
When have installed ASIO choose this option in the Sonar's  Preference tab.
After this,use the internal clock in the Sync and Cache Tab.
The last,tick the "use ASIO latency delay" on the same preference tab.

yea an m-audio fast track, it was all working fine in the beginning then all of a sudden it started doing this

Change the Audio windows options and read the Sonar's Audio device install manual.

O ok yea I understand what your saying but no I have the m-audio device running, it is running through sonar and everything.
