Sounds quite nice, though the vocal sounds a little thin other than that the mix comes across quite well here.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for listening Wookie. Maybe with Mike and Reece's help, I can figure out how to make the vocals sound more robust.

Mix sounds pretty good to me. I found the strumming patterns of the acoustic and electric guitars a bit distracting at the start, they didn't seem quite 'on the same page' there, but better as the song went on.

@ Reece - the programmed drums are much better than the last track, but you do tend to overdo it a bit and it gets muddly, like right before, and under the start of the guitar solo. Hope you don't think I'm picking on you but sometimes less is more.

Song reminded me of Styx, that's probably been said before.

Hey James,
thanks, no I'm not thinking you're picking on me.  I'm not the greatest at drum programming and I'm trying to get better, so I appreciate the advice.  I'll look at the area you're talking about and see if we want to change it at this point in the process.  if not, I'll certainly take your advice in consideration for future songs.  we've also recently enlisted a drummer at least for advice on the next one coming up.

I'll not comment on the strumming.  that's not my department!

Thanks for listening and your comments, too, John!  Sean, Mike and I are discussing your comments now!

James, Thanks for listening and for the comments. Reece told me the same thing about the guitars syncing at the beginning. Thanks for confirming it. I'll fix it and hopefully post a new version soon.

I appreciate the "Styx" comment too!

Yeah... Sean has that Dennis DeYoung sound..... I like it. Sean should be the default singer for the band.

This is a good song.... probably the best yet, as far as writing goes.

Tighten up the intro as others have mentioned.  As far as the mix, I'm listening on cheap computer speakers.....I jumped over to the lappy and with cans..... this sounds pretty good guys.

I'm not a real big fan of the style of drumming that is used in modern "christian music" these days.... and I found myself not liking the drums in this in a number of places..... I was thinking...come on...smack that snare..... give me something that feels solid.....   But I guess in the context of what I hear in church worship groups.... this is what is popular now.....

Overall, good job.

Ah, come on Herb, even Ringo was allowed to sing sometimes!

We choose who sings on which songs mostly by who wrote most of the song.  Personally I think it's appropriate that way and I think we all do a good job at our individual styles.

thanks for listening and your comments Herb!  I understand your concerns about the drums, we're not perfect on drums, but we're working on them with some help.  I don't plan to change the entire drum track on this, but we are looking at fixing a place or two like James mentioned.

Sean wrote this one and Mike and I both were drawn to it to use as a Scandalous Grace song.  it really does have some great writing in it and Sean did great on the vocals and on the mix.  he's learning to mix, but aren't we all?  and so far I think he's doing an excellent job at that.  it takes time to learn, as we all know!

thanks again!

Agree with you Ringo.....um....,Reece. Somehow Dylan and Neil Young sold albums over the years as well. I am kind of thinking about taking up the harmonica. 😄

Hey.... don't bust on me..... (wink wink) I'm just observing and commenting with no bias one way or the other.  In any given band there's usually one person who really have a "photogenic" voice.... (for lack of a better analogy)  That doesn't mean the other singers can't sing....and yes...even Ringo got to sing a few songs..... it simply means that one fits better than the other.

I often get comments that my singing is reminiscent of either Neil Young or Willie Nelson.... or both... and neither one of those is a particularly good singer by anyone's standards.... but I take what I can get.

No harm, no foul, no insults were intended.
