I stayed with 9, so worth it on the summer upgrade sale probably, especially since it gives me what 10 months to save up.
 
On an unrelated note I think Orange Marmalade makes the best PBJ sandwiches.

I resisted the urge to buy it on this latest sale as well.  I thought I wanted Komplete Ultimate, but I mostly need orchestral sounds which are sadly lacking.  It doesn't make sense to me to spend $700 just to get Kontakt and a bunch of stuff I don't need, and then turn around and buy another $1000+ worth of libraries to get the sounds I want.  I'm thinking I should just save up and buy the Berlin series, and use the free Kontakt player.      

If a sale comes up for K11 Full I might bite.  I resisted the K10 sales as I know I wouldn't be happy until I upgraded to current.  Yes, it's a disease.
 
$599 for K11 Full is on par with buying K10 + K11 upgrade, so any K11 sale should do the trick.

Bottom Line = 11U upgrade = $399 = Big Bux for Bapu
Especially since I already own Strummed Acoustic and Emotive Strings alongside my K10U.

NI has sales once or twice a year, so once this happens (I'm guessing Thanksgiving) I will probably upgrade, it does seem like a decent, if not spectacular update. Una corda itself interests me, as do the symphony updates (I suspect they are teasers to compel a full update), which I suppose could lead me to get the full versions if they, too go on sale next year. No rush for me, and no extra cash, either.

bought 8 standard, 9 ultimate upgrade, 10 ultimate upgrade.  I will pass on this one.

It is good value for me, but since the only things I want from NI at the moment, and I say want, not need, are the following cross grades, Reaktor 6 @ 159 AUD and the Woodwind Collection @ 439 AUD, and since  I would still need to buy the Woodwind Collection anyway, I would effectively be spending 599 AUD to get 159 AUD worth of product.

I may just get the Kontakt upgrade, but it sounds like it's upgrades for library developers. Perhaps I should wait for V 6.0. I don't ever recall paying for a point release.

If I understand right the Kontakt update will be free to Konakt 5 users when it comes out.

uh, don't hld your breath for that.  generally a major point release is a cross grade upgrade price.  similar to Reactor 6 release.
 
trust me Kontakt 6 will be a paid release / upgrade pricing. it's NI's bread and butter, it's what makes them the most money.
I will wait til Komplete 12 if it's released in that.
