  • First connection of M200i via REAC to Sonar X2 - SOLVED

I just purchased an M200i.  I connected a CAT5E Ethernet cable from the M200i REAC port to a dedicated gigabit ethernet port on the Windows 7 machine where Sonar X2 lives. The REAC V2 drivers installed successfully.  Sonar X2 Producer is updated to the latest X2a patch.

The M200i is set to REAC master, and there is a green LED lit by the REAC jack on the back.

When starting Sonar, I created a new project from the REAC 16 template.  In preferences / Input Drivers I see 16 inputs (REAC Input 1-2, 3-4, etc).
However they are grayed out and I can't enable them.

In Driver Settings, the drop down lists for the Timing Masters show only the ports on my Focusrite Saffire, but nothing for the M200i or REAC.

What am I missing?

It is not an ASIO driver mode issue is it? ASIO will only allow one audio interface at a time.

Could it be related to sample rate?
Or could the REAC-driver be locked/in use by another program, eg Windows?

Just long shots. Been a while since I used REAC.

Best Regards

It is the ASIO sharing issue that scook mentioned. Now that I've got the M200i, I don't really need the Saffire, though.

I think ASIO is over 5 years old. Isn't it time to enroll it in kindergarten so it can learn to share with others?
