It took months to come to this, It was only a few bars that I couldn't finish, but then I got this Godin with TriplePlay built into it, and... well... you can decide.

Home-made baritone; Squier Jazz V Deluxe bass; Godin Session Custom TriplePlay (I used the midi control to play the SI64); Ivory II; Addictive Drums 2; Dimension Pro and SI64 synths. All done in Cakewalk Sonar Platinum.

Sounds very clean and all of the instruments can be heard quite well. I think what is missing is an overarching melody to pull everything together. Also, the drums should probably be brushes instead of sticks, but that's just my opinion.

Thank you, Dan.

I would agree it needs a melody. It's only instrumental because I can't come up with lyrics, and I think this one begs to be sung. I've been mixing and remixing since I posted this version. Now it has an electric piano in places to match the strings. I pushed them both almost solidly left and right. It also needed a more interesting ending, and I've worked on that, too.

OK, this has got a future I think! It's a nice blend of instruments, and I'd agree, it needs a singer's melody.

I got tired of that quirky little drum pattern in the first part, but I really dug that excellent swing? pattern in part two. The jazzy ride cymbal gave it twice the groove, very cool.

Looking forward to see where this goes.

cheers,

The mix does sound quite nice here though as noted above it needs something to add a little more of that something.

Thanks for sharing.
