Does Izotope ever run a special on upgrading from regular Ozone to Advanced? I was looking at Pro Q2 for surgical EQ, but realized if I upgrade to Advanced I can run the Ozone EQ as a standalone plugin, as well as the other components PLUS I get the additional advanced items. Seems to me the smartest way to go, but I don't need it badly enough to spend $250 to upgrade...

Every  once in a while iZotope runs the no brainer upgrade special.  usually just as another product upgrade is coming out - or a new bundle sale etc.

If you own 2 Izotope plugins already you can get the Music Production Bundle
about the same price as just the upgrade to 07 Advanced...just an FYI...
For a couple of dollars more you get the whole shabang...and can get the
discounted price on the RX Plugin pack to boot...

Check in your Izotope account and look at the "Upgrade Coupons"...
you might have a better deal listed there also...

I wouldn't upgrade just to get the EQ module as a separate plugin. Yeh, it's quite good. But Pro-Q is every bit its equal and easier on CPU. That said, the bundle has plenty of other goodies to sweeten the pot, such as Alloy 2 and EBU metering.

I am with you and Bit - I wouldn't do it JUST for the EQ, but getting everything as individual modules AND getting the metering stuff it just seems to make sense. It would cost me $125 just to buy Pro Q2... I don't need the bundle though - as I don't really need Alloy.

Larry - I have Ozone 4, 5, and 7. If I use this upgrade to upgrade one of those to Ozone 7 Advanced, in theory I should be able to sell my existing Ozone 7 right?

Theoretically Yes...

Did you upgrade from 5 to 7 or just buy 7...that would be the determining factor I believe...
If you use your O5 Serial # when you buy then I think that will keep O7 in the clear...
