I came very close to buying one of those Epiphone Jack Cassady basses once.  Love the double-cut design (as I do on all my guitars and basses) and the chambering.  Ever play one Ed?

Yeah I played one once. My first bass was a knock off of that style (St. George IIRC). I sanded it down to have a natural look (I clear coat sealed it).
 
Then I got my first P-Bass and the rest is history (true or not).
