I thought I understood how to do this awhile back, but if I did, it was apparently convoluted, as I have forgotten, and the documentation is unclear.
I have 2 windows open in the foreground, the
Event List (Views > Event List) and the
Edit Filter (Edit > Select > By Filter). I have selected the entire contents of multiple MIDI tracks, and all the notes are visible in the Event List display.
If I define a filter in
Edit Filter, as either an inclusive set (
Include: Note, Min Duration=1, Max Duration=200) or an exclusive set (
Include: Note, "exc" box checked, Min Duration=200, Max Duration=20000), and click
OK, the Edit Filter window immediately closes, but the contents of the Event List display remain unchanged (even if I close it and reopen it). If I look at PRV, I can see that the relevant notes are highlighted, but that doesn't help me much; I need to see a compact
list. If I open the
Event List "
Event Manager" panel, it only allows filtration by classes of event (e.g., "Note"), which is too broad for this need.
How it ought to work, IMHO, is a filter is declared in
Edit Filter and the filter is immediately applied in real time to the contents of the
Event List.
Any assistance appreciated.
