I find the overall level of optimism in this thread rather strange.
And some of you state that you wouldn't even seem to have any problem shelling out for X3
if it contains fixes for some of the problems in X2. I'm sorry, but that's just bizarre. And despite the obvious absurdity of buying an upgrade to get fixes to a previous version, it's almost guaranteed that the new version will bring forth its
own set of bugs and problems. It's a vicious circle where you're effectively paying up front for the product after next.
Don't get me wrong, loyalty to a company and to software we all love is completely understandable, but surely that should be a two-way street? In my opinion, and for whatever reasons (that we'll probably never know), the
perception of reciprocal loyalty from Cakewalk to its customers seems to have all but dried up.
If anyone honestly believes things are as friendly and co-operative around here now as they were pre-Roland then I'm afraid I'd deduce that they were either being delusional at best, or unrealistically sycophantic at worst.
For the record, X2a is working fine for me, but I'll decide whether or not to purchase X3 on
its merits, and nothing else.
