I'm brand new to this product so I am starting from zero. Are there plug-ins like EZ Drummer or Addictive Drums for X2 Essential?
What I have seen so far looks like I need to upgrade to X2 Studio.

for 24bit real acoustic drums, I prefer Superior Drummers and Native Instruments Kontakt 60's, 70's, 80's Modern drummers and studio drummers.
And not mixed inside toontracks mixer or Kontakt mixers but direct every mic to every indivitual audio out tracks to the Sonar 64bit mixer

X2 Essentials includes a very simple drum synth - SI Drum. You can use any of the drum synths you asked about. BTW FXpansion currently has BFD Eco on sale for cheap http://www.fxpansion.com/index.php?page=166

Yep, SI Drum will get you started. Then you may want to move up to EZdrummer or Superior Drummer from Toontrack.

if your going to upgrade go right to producer not studio, you wont have the plug ins or vsti's your inquiring about in this post.

As an owner of X2 Essential, BFD Eco, Studio/Abbey Road Drummer libraries, SSD4 EX and EZDrummer, I recommend EZDrummer if you're a songwriter type like me who wants convincing drum sounds quickly without spending hours tweaking EQs and compressors on each drum, and Abbey Road Drummer libraries or SSD 4 (or probably Superior Drummer 2 or BFD2) if you want to dig deeper for even more realistic drums.

That said, I like SI Drum's beautiful GUI and I use it every time I practice guitar. :)

As for BFD Eco, it comes with a number of different kits, but to my ears they all sound weak and poor. Listen to the audio demos if still available on their site. Tweaking EQs and compressors might help but the machine gun effect (due to lack of sound differences between velocity layers) still makes the plugin unusable IMO. I also bought it for $29, but I still think it's not worth it. Just my opinion, though.

Yes the Eco demo's are still available and they sound great to my ears.  You can get it till the end of the month for around $25 - $30 which is a complete no brainer.

They sound much less processed and natural to my ears but maybe you don't want to bother with tweaking your own drums and just want something that sounds ready to go out of the box and EZdrummer is easier to use hence the name. That said Eco has around 80 or so presets for different styles and genres, EZdrummer has 4. I'm not saying EZdrummer isn't good but it really lacks the versatility of BFD Eco and has less kits too.

I would go with EZdrummer.
 
You can always upgrade to Superior at a later date.  EZdrummer is easy to use, and IMHO sounds much better than it's rivals.
