Hey guys,

Just got sonar X2. love the look and feel of it. However I cannot for the death of me work out how to add in my many 3rd party plugins. I have searched the net for ages and can't work it out. I know someones gonna go all rage on me because "it's so easy and just use google". But I LITERALLY cannot work it out. I've tried adding all of my plugins to sonars VST folder. I've clicked all over the plugin box in sonar, I cannot find a preferences tab (like reaper) where I can manually located and scan my plugins into the DAW. You get the picture! Any help would be awesome.

Also I've imported an MP3 of drums, which where mixed before hand. It's good quality however in Sonar it distorts and slows down at parts. Does sonar really take up that much CPU? because beforehand I'd run Reaper with 70 plus tracks and atleast 100 plugins and theres never any problem.

Thanks guys!

Press "P" to bring up the preference tab, under file go to VST settings. There you can add and remove folders
but most importantly for you right now you can scan your vst folders.

The plug manager wont be of any use until your VST's have been scanned.
Once done you might need to make sure that your plug in layout is set to, "Default all" You'll set it when you add an effect by right clicking in an fx box, at the top it will say plug in layouts.

Hope that helps

This stupid forum!!!
That's the second time I've done that. Apologies but it's really not my fault.
I press submit and nothing happens so naturally I press it again.
