I tried  to play a drumloop with the metronome on, and played a guitarmelody at the same time  then everything was fine.
But as soon as I started recording  the loop was out of sync with the metronome.
I had 1 bar count in so I tried without count in.
Then  everything was fine....Very strange

Anyone else had this problem?

sounds strange. was it just the drum loop that was out of sync when you used count in? the guitar was still tight?

were any of the loops (or both(?)) groove clips?

what sound card and driver are you using?

What are your midi buffers set to?

typically any pre roll problems are usually your buffers in que.
(start/stop) if sonar is handling audio fine but you press play and theres a bit of a lag, try your buffers in que.
this could be your issues, it may not.
I would try saving the project and closing it, re open and see if it still exists.
sometimes a simple re start (sonar/cpu) can remedy things like this.
but you find an issues in another place like was anything running in the backround, IE- windows update ?
not to say this would produce off timing problems with the metronome but it is worth a look-see.

The drumloops are groveclips. I tried to bounce them to track and the sync was fine then.

I'm using ECHO audiofire 4 with the latest drivers.
I tried to change MIDI buffers with no luck. I also tried to change playbackbuffers, but still no luck.

I've tried to reboot, and also tried to open the project in X1d but the problem was still there.

Seems like the groove clips are causing the problems......

Your interface is made by the company that makes the Layla interfaces. I don't know much about them other than to say that I have seen quite a few people over the years have problems with the Layla interfaces.  IIRC it had to do with the latency issues and sync.

I don't know if that is the root of this issue. I tend to think it is still a settings or driver issue. Contact the manufacturer and ask them some questions.

Try using a different driver mode, if all else fails. ASIO or WDM driver modes.

Any chance you have a tempo or time signature change just prior to the measure?

My ECHO soundcard has been rock solid since day 1. My old laptop was running  vista in the days of the X1 storm, and it was doing very well with that soundcard.
With this  this DAW I've had just good things to say about the  ECHO Audiofire . I've heard only positive things about ECHO souncards, and their reputation is that their drivers are very well made AFAIK.

But after some investigation it seems like the problem is only for this project.
I tried to start a new project with similar setup (softsynths, audio and MIDI tracks) and there were no sync problems. Another thing is that when I tried to insert the R-mix plug it didn't work in the "syncproblem"project but it was OK in the new project.....

conclusion: There is something wrong with the project
