I really hope someone can help direct me.
1) I have a huge project that contains 8 complete songs, one after another with each part contained in channel folders (Drums, bass, etc). It has all the vocal clips split by song and then has layers associated for each. So example: Channel 4,5,and 6 each have vocal tracks grouped into a song folder: "Folder-Vocals song 1>Main Vox, Back up's etc", with about 4 to 5 layers in each of multiple takes.
I was going to edit channel 4 that contains 4 layers of takes but when I play it back the clip shows the wav form, the meters are showing sound but no audio is on that set of layers. I have unmuted all the layers and still see that Cakewalk meters on the console and track meters are seeing some kind of sound but nothing is audible. The funny thing is that earlier in the day the tracks played fine. The other vocal tracks play fine in other songs (all of the other music channels have sound). Except for a few other songs, the same thing happens.
I've noticed out of the 8 songs it seems that it also happened on 3 others all of a sudden. I have had no problems until this happened. So before i go any further I don't want to delete or corrupt anything I am asking for help.
If the wav is showing on the meters that it is reacting to some sort of audio but nothing is audible form these tracks, is there another mute type setting I may be missing? I've also checked to make sure the envelopes aren't zero's out on that clip. all of them are set to where sound should be present.
2) I did save multiple back ups just in case some weird thing happened so I would be able to import files into another. I tried to do this with the tracks listed above. The tracks play fine in the back up but when I import them into this channel, it imports silence. No wav form or audio. Again I've checked things before exporting to a file and it's all there. when I import that same file it is importing silence. Strange things happening all of a sudden.
Thanks for any help I can get and sorry for long post but wanted to make sure I explain everything as it is happening.
