In the Sonar Platinum Lifetime Updates FAQ:
If we change the name of SONAR Platinum, you will get lifetime updates to the newly named version. It's as simple as that.
Does that mean the Lifetime Updates apply to ANY & ALL future updates to Cakewalk's flagship program?!?!?!
This sounds way too good to be true!... and you know the old saying about that...
OR
Do they mean "you will get lifetime updates (up to) the newly named version"

I'm skeptical about ANY company that claims Lifetime Updates due to getting burned on the popular Health Club/Gym Lifetime Memberships the were so popular in the 90's.  Lifetime Updates usually meant the lifetime of that EXACT product name or company name.
Personally, I think Cakewalk easily deserves my $199 for such a great product, but like I said, just for clarity...

This has been discussed ad nauseum.

If you don't believe it, don't buy it. Or, just join the hundreds, if not thousands who have.

It's all a conspiracy, they are waiting for you in particular to purchase lifetime updates and then they will roll out a new flagship version which will be exempt.
Lol!!!

I just ask a question and this is what I get.
It's interesting how neither one answered the question.

Their point is this subject has been beat to death and there are a multitude of similar threads threads. Most (including myself) believe that Cake is on the up and up and the lifetime deal is a no brainer.

Actually, by going to Help>About Sonar I noticed that under Membership it reads Valid Through 12/24/2037 and I'm wondering if they expect me to be dead by Christmas eve of 2037.

The world will spin on... Even the 10K bug is already on the radar. I hope they make the most of the time left to plan that one!

My guess is many of you were not even bothered by the Day 10000 problem. It was eclipsed by newer programming opportunities. Still, it was a good revenue generator for those involved.

No... Actually, "this is what you get" when you don't do a google search
seriously though, it has been discussed over and over and over again.
good question, im not knocking your curiosity, im just saying a google search would have saved you the trouble of asking something that has been beaten. There is a 12 page thread about it.
