I just got a ProjectMix IO through ebay that arrived today. It's clean, in original box and seems to work fine with Splat on Win 10. I am trying to learn the button assignments for controlling Splat. However, I don't like many of the default assignments. Some seem a bit pointless and clumsy. Is there a way of reassigning them?

I also have an Alphatrack which az... can't remember his name - clever chap on this forum... made a plugin for Sonar to get Alphatrack working with it again. His software lets me customise all the function buttons on the Alphatrack. Is there anything similar for ProjectMix?

(Mods, I posted this in the Splat forum as it is specific to Splat and no one will see it in the hardware forum. Ta!)

I have the ProjectMix but I haven't found a way to reassign the buttons. Your Projectmix can work on a MIDI Mode. What you can do if you don't like the button assignments is to use MIDI Mode and manually assign each of the console buttons.

In the manual there is a seccion that explain how to do that.

IMHO I don't think it worth to use the console in that way. It is just a matter of getting used to the button assignment (I put some labels on the Projectmix). Sonar integration with it is pretty good and I guess that you can loose some functionality by using it in MIDI mode.

Thanks for your reply. I have found that in the current Sonar Plat. some of the functions do not work correctly. E.g Aux 2 button should give me eq controls but only lets me enable/disable eq on a track and adjust the lo frequency band but no other bands. The 2nd page on Aux 2 is blank. The plugin button just gives me access to the Pro channel eq too, but not in a useful way.

I confirm that some M-Audio ProjectMix I/O functions work not as intended in Sonar Platinum.
Have you found any way to fix it?
Thanks!

No, but due to all the sh*t going on at the moment, I tried out some demos of competing software and found out that Harison MixBus works great when the PM is set to Cubase mode. Also, Cubase works well. The faders work with virtually anything but integration works well with Harrison MixBus and Cubase, and in Studio one there are some things that work, but I think it can be edited to work better, but haven't dug too deep into that yet.

I like MixBus, you may like it to as a tracking system. Cubase is probably the best DAW out there and it works with both of those really well.

Hey! Thanks for the answer!
For now I am stuck with Sonar due to economical reasons...
Thanks for the info about MixBus. Actually never heard about it, and I should check it out.
Also I can confirm that I used PM in the past with Cubase 5 and Pro Tools 6, 7, 8 and I can't remember any problems.

About ProjectMix and Sonar Platinum (2017.10)
Most critical things work (faders, pan, mute, solo, rec, transport etc.)
What doesn't work is EQ control, plugins control and such stuff with pages.
And for some strange reason SEL button of the first channel doesn't work either! All other SELs work fine.
I've checked also with Sonar X3. All the same, but SEL1 works! =)) Really strange...

I haven't noticed sel 1 not working in Sonar. I'm running Samplitude Pro 3X now and that has a controller editor built in so everything can be remapped/programmed. Sonar was lacking that. Studio One lacks that too.
