The only effect that is on special that you may not have is the PC4K S Type Channel compressor, I do not remember if you got it as a bonus freebie with the X1 Production Suite (it was an on again/off again promo item). You got the PC Exp/Gate as part of X1 Production Suite.

I always get those two mixed up because they look so similar without seeing them side by side. Not sure what extra benefit the PC4K would provide for me as I already have the PC2A which I think is great. I also just noticed something the A patch changed when I went to double check whether I had that one or not. Instead of the boring gray menu of PC modules it's changed to a fancy graphical menu. Cool.

I guess you won't know until you buy it. It is just another compressor with a different character. Not a must have, more like a nice to have. Yeah, icons were added, part of the Touch enhancements, I believe. I would imagine, you also held off on the PC2A to CA2A upgrade. It would be low on my list if I had a budget.

Oh yeah, no need for the full VST version while I'm using Sonar. It is nice sounding enough though that if I get fed up with Cake (unlikely) I'd upgrade so I could toss it on whatever I'm working with. The only things on my list right now are a VRM box, MarkII Bass, BFD (upgrade to full). I'd like to get the Concrete Limiter but only if there is a blowout special on it because eventually I want to get Ozone for mastering... but that one is probably a long way off unless people start paying me to do stuff... which again is probably a long way off.

BFD upgrade is on sale now http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2836787
I PM'ed the best deal on Mark II when it happened. If I see it that low again, I'll let you know. I am sure the next time CL is on sale, a thread will pop up here but I have seen the price point you wanted in a previous thread. That might not happen.

Thanks. I'll have to wait for the next upgrade sale though because I've only got $100 to toss out this month and considering I'm working on mixing old recorded material I need the VRM box more than BFD. I might be using some samples to beef up the kick and snare on these tracks but between the Andy John's kit for SD3 and the Rock Legends for BFD (and I guess I qualify for the SD3 version too thanks to the Content Club) I think that should more than cover that need. I mostly want the full version of BFD for when I'm creating original stuff from scratch and even then I'm almost thinking the money would be better spent on specific expansion packs and using them in Eco. The demos I've heard for the included BFD samples aren't exactly the sound I want but the increased functionality will definitely help me out once I get going. It's all a game of juggling resources right now making sure I get what I need as I need it. I was kind of hoping to be a little richer than I am right now but some stuff didn't work out exactly the way I wanted... but such is life. Cheers.

One more thing you might want to try is the Free Melda Production suite. It is free although the licensed version is worth the extra features (especially if you catch it on sale). The Suite includes a limiter that you might find useful.

Ah yes. Forgot about that one. Seems to be quite popular. Really I should be trying to get things as slick sounding as I can with basic production principles anyway so maybe with some practice and elbow grease I won't need any of the expensive doodads and whatchamacallits. Maybe I should just chill out on the spending until I see what I can accomplish with what I've got. Still haven't really opened this sucker up but this current project should give me an idea of what's what.

someone mentioned W1. It has no interface on it's own, but betabugs made an interface for the w1. W1 is a damn good brickwall limiter for the price: http://www.betabugsaudio.com/plugs.php

It is nice to have a fancy looking GUI. Was the Betabug's version updated to 64bit? I could not find it. The default VST GUI W1 http://www.yohng.com/software/w1limit.html contains both 32 and 64bit versions and the plain VST GUI in this case is no big deal.
