Hi all -
I just received a NanoKontrol2 and set it up to work with Sonar X2 Studio. Since there were a few glitches in the setup, I thought I'd share how I got it working and maybe save someone else's time.
- First, download and install the driver software and the mapping software from Korg's site: http://www.korg.com/nanoseries2. Follow the instructions for Sonar in the manual exactly to set the device to work with Sonar.
- Summary of the next steps: (but read the manual):
- Press SET MARKER and REC while plugging the device into a USB port.
- In Sonar preferences, select the NanoKontrol2 for both input and output.
- Under Control Surfaces, click the button in the upper right corner to add a new Controller/Surface
- In the dialog, select Mackie Control and set both input and output ports to the NanoKontrol2
If it works, you are golden. If not, run the uninstall for the Korg drivers. You'll have a chance to check the port assigned to the driver and abort the install. If the port for the NanoKontrol2 is not between 0 and 9, you'll need to disable one of the other devices using one of those ports. You can do that in the Korg uninstall program. Click the option button and deselect "Uninstall only NanoKontrol2". You'll need to choose one of the devices between 0 and 9 and then uninstall that device and the Korg. I had several duplicates, probably from switching the USB ports for my audio interface so I used one of those. Plug the NanoKontrol2 back into the USB port and it *should* work. At least mine did.
Hope this helps someone else
Dave
