Hmm, I thought using PM's to solve issues was considered defeating the reason we have a forum!  It looks to me like for every 1 person who posts there are 30 others in the background looking for information and will use google to look for answers.
Even though this topic is a common one no need to take it off camera Bob. We all want to know what's up! My guess is on board sound card blues.

What, the Via HD audio chip?

That would be my guess

I couldn't agree with this more. This is not the first time I have seen this and wonder why.

What I have is the vt1708s soundchip from which I been told is a decent chipset supposed studio quality.

but idk im thinking I might have to go with m-audio or someother sort of usb audio controller

I also use asio drivers but ya I get ****ty quality audio all around id say.

Like when I try to record a vocal track and put autotune on it I cant play a rhythem track and record autotuned vocals at the same time however in other older studio software
I was able to record everything on the fly create the beat several tracks then add the vocal track and use autotune on it and here it while recording .

With sonar even in x1 I would have to add that effect to the vocal track after its recorded and most of the time in x1 or x2 I cant even hear the autotune effect it barely comes in at any point in the vocal track.

In SONAR you always record the dry signal. VST effects are never recorded during tracking.
