She can sing. The mix could use some work. Not entirely polished. The piano sounds banged/pounded, not played. JMO.

It is a Karaoke track, supplied by the client.  Nothing I can do with that.  And, as I noted I had to change the key from Eb to G and it made it worse.

But, I appreciate all the comments, good and bad.

Jack, her voice is awesome!  the karaoke track does not do her justice at all, I'd try to find a piano player maybe from her church (assuming she goes to church since she's been invited to a Gospel TV show) to play it for her because the track is horrible and brings her down because of it.

her vocals are just awesome tho!

She sings really good. I agree that the reverb is a bit much in beginning more so on the piano than the voice. Later its not so noticeable.

I wish my daughter would focus because she has the raw talent but just no desire to work. Sigh!

Good job though.

The reverb on the piano is on the Karaoke track.  I did nothing to that.  I know its crappy and told the client but they wanted to use it.  It wasn't quite as bad at the original Eb key, got worse when changed to G (I use PC DJ Karaoke program to change keys on Karaoke tracks).  All the other Karaoke tracks are very good, just this one.   (I guess I should have used a different cut for a sample).

She is already selling CD's at concerts, and getting rave reviews.

Instead of a karaoke track, why not try a MIDI track - especially if you can't get a real piano player. A song like this has a bunch available for download, you can change the key without degradation, and export as an audio file to mix with the vocals.

Just a thought...

I didn't have an option.  That is what the client supplied and wanted to use.  They paid the bill so I did what they wanted (and are happy with).  This is a repeat customer (I did a gospel CD for them last fall) and they are planning another CD for Summer.

In difference to other comments about the reverb on here, this is what I got from a local musician:

"She sure has a powerful voice.   I like the “touch” of reverb you added.  It is
just right for the voice and the song."
