Must be bad, the BBC TV news slipped it in amongst the Olympics coverage. Stay safe Bill and the nest of luck.

My mom tells me the news are saying more rain on the way too...

Strap inflatable objects all over yourself Bill!  Remember, ABOVE the water is better!

Ham 'n Eggz hasn't posted in a week either... Hopefully they're both staying dry.

Bill,

I havn't lived in Baton Rouge for 7 years and I liked the town and area quite a bit. Good music there and in 'Nawlins. But I must confess that I don't miss the weather at all- Hurricane Gustav, frequent torrential rains with floods, and smothering summer heat & humidity. Having said that, it "only" got up to 106, here today. But it's dry heat, or so I tell myself.

In any case,
Stay safe,

Bert

over the next 10 years or so,
all the weather guessers will be redefining '100 year floods'

the old records just don't count anymore,
and as new weather patterns begin to form,
new rules will have to be observed.

Bill's last comment was "I can't believe the power hasn't gone out". Then silence.

There are some things you just don't say to tempt fate, like "At least it can't get any worse".

Hopefully it's nothing more than a loss of power. I'm pretty sure my CH narrative was similar during Hurricane Sandy - my last message was something like "holy crap the power station up the road from me has just exploded" and then nobody heard from me in a week.
