Oh yeah, I'm sticking with Sonar until I am forced to change. I mean, why would I run out and spend $$ on a new DAW, struggle through the learning curve, spend time finding work-arounds with the new DAW to do things I can do easily in Sonar, and spend hours & hours converting old projects to whatever format the new DAW needs to open them?
I ran 8.5 on an XP machine until this last spring, and was still turning out good recordings. I only switched because of hardware issues that were beginning to plague the XP machine, and could finally justify the financial expenditure to the finance committee. (AKA my lovely wife.) So I figure that the few bugs that SPLAT currently has are not stopping me from making recordings now, and while I am really bummed about no new updates, fixes, etc, I see no reason to stop using a perfectly good tool. I still own hand tools from companies that have disappeared, and they all still serve me well. I realize that software is a little different, but I look at it the same way: why stop using something that works?
So yeah, I'm staying with Sonar, and will count on the forum members (wherever we all land on the 'net) for technical support & advice. Life is good. :-)
