I am staying for as long as possible. If a Win10 update kills Sonar I guess someone smart would help me to roll back to the last "Sonar friendly" Win10 and I'll be good again. Am I reasonably optimistic or too optimistic?

Not to say it hasn't happened, but I've worked in IT for a long time, and I've never known a Windows update to render a computer or a program inoperable. Occasionally, there are problems where a feature doesn't work properly or work at all. If your DAW doesn't need to be on the internet, you can turn off automatic updates, too.
 
For anyone really worried about holding on, I would suggest using imaging software like Macrium Reflect or Acronis True Image to take a snapshot of your system that you can restore whenever you want. It's probably a good idea to use offline activation and have all your serials and codes backed-up, as well.

I understand that folks on this forum feel the need to move away but it's too soon IMHO.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if there's an announcement in the coming days and weeks that the guys at Cakewalk are back in business. If that happens, I'm upgrading to Platinum immediately.
 
In the meantime, the product is working well and stable.
 

I'm sticking with Sonar as long as it works I see no reason to change.

Have been using Cakewalk products since the late eighties.  I expect to continue to use it once the sting of this whole situation settles a bit.

I wont be deleting Sonar from my computer and I am still using it as I always did.
Until a windows update renders it unusable I cant see a reason not to keep it
and although I have bought Mixbus I use it together with Sonar Platinum not
in place of it.
I also have Mixcraft and Pro Tools First but I prefer Sonar.

You seem to have an obssession in knocking those who decide to stick with Sonar. Why ?

You’ve done the same in a couple of threads. You’ll be forcing me to use the Tr...... word soon.

Everyone has there opinion, you even have yours. But don’t keep knocking others.

The only attachment is to the money in my bank account, and my only thought is to where my time is best spent. I see no need to change either..
