Sort of a newbie question, but is there a way to use SONAR X2 without creating a project so I can just experiment and play around?

I have not been able to figure out a way to open X2 and fiddle around without having to create a project, which of course creates new folders, etc.  Any ideas?

I do it all the time but its because I have a project I use just for this. I call it empty. It has 1 audio track and 1 MIDI track. Its in its own folder.

So when I want to experiment or just fool around I open this project and go from there. If I decide to save it I rename it and put it in its own folder.

You too? The only thing in my empty.cwp is the default normal template, i.e. a master, metronome and preview buses.

Create a project, call it whatever you want, and fiddle til your hearts content. Just do it! You'll be glad you did.

Just start the project using Cntl+n

Now there is a rare incident - me promoting a short cut.

Thanks - I had never noticed that.  I only knew the Cntl+n short cut.

You're welcome I didn't know about Cntl+n until I read this thread.
