  • The formula for getting Sound Forge 10 to work in X2- SOLVED!

I've seen the registry formula before for getting Sound Forge 10 to function in X2, but after googling, I'm unable to come up with the exact wording to change the registry and make it work right.  I was successful doing this in X1 before, so I believe it can be done.  I would be most appreciative if anyone can post the exact wording for me to make it work.  Thanks a million.

http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013099 You will need to locate the full path to Forge100.exe, the actual name of the Sound Forge Pro 10 program, to add to the registry.

Ugggh...I so hate that method scook. LOL! Lynn, if you want to, try this...it's a heck of a lot easier.

Thanks to Scott Garrigus for hosting this for 100 years: http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/downloads/SetupSonarUtils__302.exe

This program allows you to add whatever you want to the tools menu Lynn without going into your registry and doing all that stuff.

scook: I'm not downing your method...thank you for sharing that...I just think this little utility may be a lot easier for those that may not want to go in and mess with the registry directly. :)

Of course, it is not my method, and if it were, it would not bother me a bit what anyone thought of it. It is well documented and reliable. It is the only method that is published by the Software vendor. Moreover, if you rely on a program to perform the edit and it gets botched, it might be more confusing to back out. I believe that Duckbar http://www.sonarmods.com/forum/index.php (login to download) also provides a front-end to the registry edits needed to add something to the utility menu. Ultimately, whatever you do will have to generate the same result.

I'm sorry if you took my message as a shot at you. That was not my intent. I merely said that there are people that do not like to mess with their registry whether it is documented and reliable or not. This program has been around since Cakewalk pro audio and still works perfectly today with a few button clicks to tell tools what to add...and a few button clicks to take things away from tools if need be. I use it on every OS I have without a problem and absolutely hate going into my registry. All I did here was offer an alternative....it wasn't meant to take away from the information you provided. My apologies.

No need to apologize. Everyone has their comfort level working with computers. There are three different solutions presented here for adding stuff to the SONAR Utilties Menu.

Hey, Danny. Funny you provided a link to Scott's website with a SONAR utility. I went to his site just the other day after figuring out how to install version 8 of Sound Forge on a Win8 machine (haven't kept up with upgrades). But what I found was the long tedious method of editing the registry. If I had only waited.

Please don't link directly to the file. Please link to the page instead...

At least that way DigiFreq gets some website exposure.

Thanks!
