  • The formula for getting Sound Forge 10 to work in X2- SOLVED! (p.3)

To be safe, just type it in exactly as the instruction say. If Sound Forge is not loading, check the ExePath value. That must be the exact full path to your Sound Forge Program. Mine is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\SoundForge Pro 10.0\Forge100.exe
but yours could be different, if you have a Sound Forge icon on your desktop, you can right-click on it, bring up the properties. The path will be in the Target entry. You can copy and paste that (without the quote marks if there are any) into the registry ExePath value.

Edit: changed my comment about case and whitespace. The best thing to do is follow the instructions without deviation.

I'm hooked on this thread, awaiting the outcome. It's a good read!

Scook, thanks again for your time and effort.  I followed the instructions to the T, in fact, I've done this correctly when I had X1, and it worked like a charm.  You're probably right that somewhere is some tiny mistake that I'm not seeing, but I haven't found it, yet.  I've also run this Sonar utility program over and over with no success.  My last question:  does anyone have it working in X2?

Yes, I do. I am using SONAR Producer X2a 64bit, Win7 Home Premium and Sound Forge Pro 10. I tested it again before posting. I am sure you verified the actual path to your copy of Sound Forge. If Sound Forge is not launching, it sounds like a path problem. If you cannot spot the problem, you could try the method I suggested about cutting and pasting the registry data from my post. I don't know if it matters, are you running SONAR as administrator?

Eureka!  I got it working at last.  Your formula is exactly right without the quotation marks and double slashes.  To anyone wanting to try this, be aware that capital letters and spacing must be exactly right.  I'm sure I missed a space somewhere along the way, but it's working now.  Thank you so much for your help.  Having SF available within Sonar is a valuable tool.  And, Cakewalk, please update your instructions!

@ Scott Garrigus - take note because your utility is incorrect.  Scook's got the wording exactly right.  But, thanks for your time, and best to you.

That was easy. Good news. It might be that SonarUtils just does not support 64bit as was mentioned earlier. Scott, you might want to check and make sure. If that is the case maybe it should be noted on the website with a link over to the manual process (or maybe Duckbar).

Hey guys... as I said... it's not my utility. It's an old piece of software (written by someone else) that's being hosted on DigiFreq. I'll look into updating the description when I get a chance.

Best,
Scott

For those that have it working, export that registry key. It creates a file with a .reg extension.
You can then give.that file to someone else to use for adding the key to their registry to enable SF.10 in the.Sonar Options menu.
Just double clicking a .reg file will add it to the registry
If the path to your wave editor or the program you use is different you can edit a reg file by change the file extension  to .txt it can be opened in windows notepad and edited as a normal txt file, change the extension back to reg, then double click to add to registry.
