Help! just got ready to record a track, and I notice the 'step record" option Is on. Where is the switch to revert to 'normal' record?? 

Right-click the Record button in the Transport module of the Control Bar or press Shift+R on your PC keyboard.

You can also click and hold on the Record button and it will open up to give you the choice between record and step record.

Sorry... that's what I meant... click and hold the Record button. Right-clicking it brings up the recording preferences. But Shift+R should work as well.
