  • Bouncing to track - new track output behaviour

So, when I was performing a mixdown into the same project, the bounced down track did not sound at all like the track as it played normally.

After much headscratching, I finally sussed out that the new track generated automatically had a vocal bus with effects on as its output. Once I changed it to the master bus, all was OK. The thing is, I had 6 busses in that project, why did the new track choose one of those rather than the master or the main outs even? There is no option in bounce to tracks to specify this, and I am sure this has caught many people out over time.  ?
Question is; Is this a bug, or normal behavior and if so, what can be done to change it ?

Get used to it. This also happened in X1. Just keep an eye on the output when creating a new track. I still get tricked time to time. It can be a real pain.

It sounds like your Vocal bus is set as the default bus for new tracks.

Right click your Master bus and set THAT one to be the default.

Just reviewing my old threads and saw that I forgot to reply to this Jonesey, and yes you were right. Thanks so much (belatedly!)
