PLEASE KIND SIR'S Please make a x2b patch for your current DAW BEFORE you launch into the next product cycle so that all of us who currently OWN X2a can actually use it instead of having to use stick with X1 because it actually works under pressure.
 
And for the 20-30 of you out there that say "my system works great and Ive never had any problems"...yeah for you, your a member of a very elite club indeed. For the rest of us that have to use it under pressure, in front of clients on a daily basis as a tool with 40+ track projects for pissed off producers that continually yammer on about how much more stable Pro Tools is ( it isn't btw ) it would be a Godsend to the rest of us.

I second the plea! I too have not switched over to x2a for stability reasons as well. I send in crash dump info hoping it will help. I have to admit I'm running x1 on win xp(32) and x2 on win7(64) so its not a equal test. The x2 system is a i5 system with 8g, using different audio interfaces. I just need x2a to run as dependable as x1 before I can switch. PS. I prefer x1 lanes over x2 lanes. My 2 cents.

You might be wasting your time posting to Roland/CW on this forum. Much better to file bug reports officially through the support part of this website.  That way, at least you know they will be aware of the bugs you are encountering, if in fact they are bugs. I haven't had one crash with X2 in a month, so it could very well be something about your system (sound card, drivers, video card, memory, 32-bit plug-in, etc. etc.) that could be causing the problem.

I do agree with the implication that having to buy X3 to get fixes to the issues/bugs in X2a isn't really a welcome concept. I don't want fixed to be compiled with a bunch of new features. I felt going to X2a was a downgrade from X2 (with hotfix).

I have nothing against fixes....  who does?   But suggesting that those with working versions of the software are somehow in an "elite club"?  Sounds to me like frustration talking.   I'd venture a guess that working versions are more common than non-working versions...probably by a long shot.   Not that fixes aren't needed, of course.   But as a member of the elite, honestly, I look forward to new/enhanced stuff just as much as fixes. 
 
I guess you could say I'm the other side of the coin.
 

Remember any complex software that has real-time or near real time processing and comprehensive GUI control vectors needs a well configured (and stable) foundation to run on.  That means doing all the things necessary to make sure OS and associated interfaces are appropriately configured and rock solid.

95-98% of all issues (particularly crashes, hangs, etc.) reports for this kind of software is NOT a result of the software itself, rather it is the foundation it is placed on that causes the problem. 

My 2 cents.

If anyone on this forum meaning a member is having issues I think its very prudent to post about it. Then if a resolution can not be found contact Tech Support. Then and only then is it fair to post this sort of thread. 


I think its only fair to let us have a go at trying to solve it and if we fail call CW and if that proves fruitless a rant or other such outbursts would be taken with less objection.

So complicated software such as Sonar is always  95 -98% bug free?  Where exactly do you get these statistics?

PPS: Layers over Lanes is my preference. Number one feature request, auto calibration for audio and vst's (connect line in to line out and run it). Sorry if I run on (and lack of newlines)...
