I raised bug reports about the fact you have to click on an object such as track inspector before you can do things - basic things like scrolling.

I'm pretty sure the response I'll get from support will be... it's not a bug.... it's a feature

I'm pretty sure the response I'll get from support will be... it's not a bug.... it's a feature

Features are designed a certain way because we think that's going to be the 'best use' for the majority of user cases. We understand this doesn't always fit into everyone's idea about how a feature should work. We're also human and sometimes things get overlooked.

I've been shocked many times on just how different people use our software to build their individual mousetrap. This is why we are always looking for constructive feedback on how we can improve the software and user experiences.

I guess it's kind of frustrating that we don't usually know whether feedback is received or considered much. Everyone is typically left to speculation. Even if only for a short period of time, I'd love to see a Q&A with Cakewalk Engineers to provide feedback and to get answers as to exactly what is the intended use of specific features. Schedule something. We'll show up.

FWIW, ALL feedback submitted by customers is looked at by a human. Sometimes the amount of feedback is so large it just takes some time.

I'd love to see more Q&A's as well! Unfortunately our developers are always busy...they are unruly otherwise.  Right now the best solution for a feature is usually talking to a support representative or looking at some of the great community created how-to's. I fully understand that is not the ideal solution all the time and we're always looking to make the end user experience better.

You can bet that CW looks at these forums and gets a lot of ideas from them.

I've been around a long time and I have watched CW do just that. We may not get a feature when we want it but often it will show up in due course.

Don't forget that CW has its own schedule with things to do in a priority list. It takes planning and careful thought to do what CW is doing.

We saw a lot of improvements in X2. Is it perfect? No, it isn't but its getting there. We just need to remind CW from time to time what we want most.

I hope you are filing bug reports officially on the CW support section.  CW may or may not be reading these forum posts.

I was told, I think by brundlefly, in previous posts that both of these are known bugs.  What I'm trying to impress on CW is how constantly annoying these bugs are.  They're not very good PR for CW.  I don't think that can be expressed in a bug report.

Peace,

Ian

It would be nice to have the plugin manager completely redone and void of all bugs and glitches. That is my hope someday...
