Hi,

After buying Komplete 9 and am using Kontakt5 a lot, but I am experiencing a very annoying problem:
All NI libraries are authorized and work fine. But all others are not: paid ones and the ones that I create with my own samples. Once loaded, Kontakt5 assumes thay are demos. And demo mode lets you use them for 15 minutes and then there is not more sound.
Anyone knows if there is a way to fix this?

Thanks in advance,
joni

I have Kontakt in the K-6 collection.

I have not had any problem using kontakt in Sonar X1e   or any of the MC series DAW's.....

I have purchased a limited number of third party sounds, and they all work fine. None of the ones I bought are stand alone apps, they all need Kontakt to work, which tells me they are simply sound/sample libraries designed with a GUI that only runs in kontakt.....

I would think that any sample libraries would not need authorization to work because I do not remember having to authorize the ones I have.  The biggest problem was getting them so that I could use them in K6.... once I had them in the K6 library tree, they run fine.

Something that runs in demo mode sounds like it needs to be authorized officially. Either Kontakt or the third party add-on.

Have you poked around the NI forums for the answer to this?

Sounds like you're running the Kontakt Free Player rather than the full Kontakt (Kontakt 5.dll).

The paid for Kontakt libraries will run in the player, as will the free content bundled with the player, but third party content will and your own samples will time out after 15 mins.
But IIRC Komplete 5 did not include Kontakt 5, I think that was introduced in Komplete 7 or 8. Kontakt 5 will not run on your Komplete 5 license. This could be why Kontakt 5 is running in player mode.

Edit - one other thought, in case I am mistaken in what I have written above, what happens when you run Kontakt as a stand alone.

Kontakt 5 was introduced in Komplete 8 and is also included in the current Komplete 9.

There are a few things in your description that are a bit unclear..

First of all; I'm guessing you mean Komplete 9 and not Komplete 5?
..Since you got Kontakt 3 with Komplete 5 and this version of Komplete isn't available any more.

With "NI Libraries", do you mean only the ones that come with Komplete? Like "Factory Library", "Upright Piano" ect?
Or do you mean all libraries released by NI but isn't necessarily included in Komplete?
(In other words; that you have to activate seperately in Service Center)

I really don't get what you mean when you say that you can't use libraries that you've created yourself with your own samples.
Creating your own libraries isn't possible. NI libraries are restricted to "official" libraries..
You can create patches for Kontakt, yes.. But not libraries.

My guess (about Kontakt's demo-confusion) would be that you haven't activated the libraries in Service Center.
Once you've done this NI should have no problems knowing what libraries you own.

Hi Guitarhacker,

Thank you for your info.
All libraries that came with Komplete 9 work fine. I have to check if Kontakt5 is fully authorized thought. When I installed it I remembered seeing a dialog box refering to a problem authorizing Kontakt. But since it worked fined with all the NI libraries and thought it was ok. I will check tomorrow in the studio.

thanks

Hi bitflipper,
That is a possibility. I have to check that and maybe uninstall all the previous versions too.
Thank you for the hint.
take care,

Hi Glyn,

That is exactly what is happening to me. 15 minutes and they time out.
I meant Komplete 9 (I have re-edited my post), sorry for the confusion.

This might be the problem. So do I have to buy a separate license for Kontakt5 ?

I have not tried Kontakt in standalone mode but I will tomorrow.

Will let you knwo what happens.

Thanks

Hi Laptech,

Yes, I meant Komplete 9.

I meant the libraries that came with Komplete 9.

Sorry, I meant patches.

I though Service Center was exclusively for NI libraries. Will I need to authorize 3rd party stuff from the Service Center?

Thanks
