Hello Everyone--

I have a really small video (like 1 minute long) in wmv format--audio is mono. The audio is really quiet and I just want to raise the level. Every time I try to import the file into X2, X2 just hangs then crashes.

I've had projects with over 100 audio tracks, automation, MIDI synths and it may take a little while, (several seconds) Sonar never had trouble opening them (same PC).

I don't do video. This is a personal clip and so it isn't some critical project. If there are any settings I need to tweak in X2 for video, please let me know.

I'm a little surprise X2 is struggling with such a small file.

it's likely not the file but something in the encoding. Maybe a minor error Sonar does not like.. I would use a converter like any video encoder ( there's a free version available) and simply use the wmv settings there to create a new file.

Thanks. The video was from my phone and it was in .3GP format (I believe) and I used Any Video Converter AVC to convert it to a wmv that Sonar doesn't like.

Maybe I'll try to convert it to another format and see if that helps.

Every now and then i just get a file that my editing system just hates without any logical explanation. This happens in dedicated video editing programs so it is bound to happen in a program with barebones video capabilities like Sonar. Just the other day i could not get After Effects to render a clip that came from the same source as several of the other clips in the same project. It took me having to convert it into a still image sequence to finally get it to work. Good luck. Hope you figure it out.
