I have been problem free for a long time, till today! My meter is showing 1 core spiking in the red and I can't figure it out?
I've gone thru and tried turning the plug ins off & on but this doesn't really help?

Did you check the Windows Task Manager to see what might be driving the CPU spike?

Yes and run the DPCLAT test and see what's going on too. It might not be within Sonar.

Ran both. Very low latency. The issue is somewhere in the computer set up I think? As far as the task manager the only thing running was a system idle process. Now what?

one thing was tick the "use multicore processor" in the global settings ( now probably in a different place.)
This will take a computer wiz I think, there are things to do with getting Sonar to use all the cores equally that are beyond me.

scook,
that did the trick my friend!!!! It took me a minute to gather the stones to edit the registry...LOL Cactus this IS the multi-core trick!
This thread should be shared to all with win 7!!! It's real easy peasy fix too. Now the program opens so fast it's awesome and I could drop my buffer down for near 0 latency.

Glad to hear it. It made a big difference for me too. It took a little time to research originally, you know this must be a common problem.

If this is something you want to apply, the following includes another way to do it using powercfg.exe:
