NEW MIX:

on the new mix, I've completely reworked the drums and lead vox, reduced the amount of flute and other things which have been suggested here on these great forums!  you guys are great!

P.S. AND the new upload is 24/44.1 wave file you can download if desired for your listening pleasure! :)

Good song. It's just my opinion, but the lead vocal seems to be leaning the left here. I think it would sound better in the center. Personally I would also consider having a snare and ride on the chorus too. I like the toms in places...IDK, just my opinion. Good song, Great intro. I like the harmony vocals and flute.

Drums seem to feel out of place and distorted/over compressed.

Lead vocal is lost in the chorus.

Guitars sound good but are a bit too up there in the mix.

Floot part is very nice.

Bass sounds good.

Is this a 24bit upload? If not I would sure like to hear one.

whack
overall decent.

I would repeat the line, "calling out...calling out...calling out" as well as preaching out, preaching out, preaching out, will give the song more memorablility

Good to hear a flute. I agree with the ride cymbal, ding, ding, ding, ding to give it some support and zing

Well done

Guys, this is an interesting song. However, I don't think the mix or the arrangement does it justice. The mix seems directionless to me. Kinda like you haven't decided yet what goes where in the mix.

I had an extremely hard time hearing the lyrics....I could hear a singer but not the words.

This intro was unique...and probably the best part of the song. The reverb was too heavy but the intro had me curious in a good way..... Once the song started.... verse 1.... it became just another average song.
The flute was nice.....however,  use it as spice, not something that rambles on and on and on behind the singers.  It sounded like it could have used melodyne in a few places, as it sounds sharp on the higher notes.

This is one of those songs that could either use a good hard new look at the mix or..... do a rewrite of the song and start again on the recording....or both.  I know you guys are capable of doing better. Listening to your other stuff.... this one has a bit of work left to do. .

Clint - thanks so much for your time to listen and comment, we appreciate it very much.

The lead vox are spread wide into the stereo field for effect, but based on your comments and others here, I am reconsidering that and will at least look at what I can do to make it better.  thanks for your observations there.

I also am going to work on the drums based on yours and others' comments.  thanks for your input!

bapsi - thanks matey for listening and commenting.  we all appreciate it very much!  we have been talking about you in the other forum, ya know.  oh - not one with a cakewalk domain!  no - for our banned!

anyway - thanks for the comments on the drums.  I had thought about reworking the drums when we changed directions and added the flute instead of the chants, but I didn't.  but now I will revisit the drums.  thanks!

same message to you as I said to Clint, the lead vox were purposefully done that way, but I need to rethink and look at what I can do to make them sit better in the mix.  thanks again!

thanks for the flute and bazz comments!  Mike really appreciates you appreciating him, so we appreciate it.  ahhhhhhh!
BTW - I uploaded the 24bit/44.1kHz version, but on this account we don't have the pro version, so I think they re-sample it back to mp3, is that right?  IDK.  we've talked about going pro on this account, but haven't decided on it yet.

thanks again for your help!

Cian - thanks so much for listening and your great comments!  I am definitely at least going to rework the drums.

Herb - thanks for listening and thanks for all of your insite and comments.  based on yours and others comments above I am going to work harder on the mix, rework the drums and remove some of the flute so that it's not playing all the way through.  thanks again for your help!

thanks again everyone!  these comments are most helpful!

Not much I can add to what has already been said as all the things the struck me as I listened have been mentioned above.  As to the conversion I do believe if you added the download function we would get the 24bit wave but as you so rightly mention it is converted to mp3 (128 bit).

Will keep the furry peepers peeled for the remix.

GASP!  maybe I accidentally uploaded the mp3 instead of the wave.  I'll have to check that tonight.
