Pretty simple stuff compared to what I hear from folks on this board, but if anyone has comments or critiques...

I like it, Ward. It's not complicated, but it's genuine.
3 AM. Thoughts racing through your head. And you can't sleep, but how you wish you could.
Waiting for the dawn that never seems to come.
You have captured a vibe here, a disturbing but familiar place.
I've listened to this several times. it's oddly captivating, and a fine first effort.
Mix has a nice balance.
Heck, it's just nicely done.

Not bad. Keep it up and you'll be making better songs sooner than you think. There was a period when I used to play guitar too. Too bad I tried to become a good shredder instead of making songs.

This is great - genuine, heartfelt, good vibe and a bit depressing! I think your voice is engaging with a good rough edge to it. I am no expert, but i think the hi hat is a bit off putting. That aside, good stuff.

yea man...I really love this tune. great job and in fact the spareness has great appeal (for me at least). I wouldn't change a thing. I do think this would fit great on an LP...but I'd plop it between to tunes that moved a bit better (faster)...

I love it! Great job!

This has a rawness about it that is perfect, like Tom I would leave just as is.

Felt like I was crashing off of something
But I don’t remember what I took.

Classic lines, which I should probably not admit to, but I have been there.

Good stuff keep em coming and thanks for sharing this defiantly worthy of a

Really appreciate the support, folks. Marshall, I'll take a look at the hi hat. Thanks for the feedback.

Funny, I've never wanted to be a singer, and sure never thought of myself as having singer potential. I just do it because there's nobody else at home to hear me. But hey, it's my life, eh? If I'm going to write about it I should probably be the one to sing about it. Sure feels weird though, making noises come out of your mouth and then making other people listen to them.

Again, I really appreciate the encouragement.

Thanks Larry! Yes, that was a real fiddle player, but it was my brother, not me. That was recorded in 1990 or so, and he was still pretty new on the fiddle (we both fell hard for guitars in our youths), but he has stuck with it and is now quite the Irish fiddle guru. His stockpile of fiddle tunes that he has in his head is just awe-inspiring to me.

I'll pass on your kind words to him.
