Yes, I do, and at the time it was true. It's what happened afterward that sank Cakewalk.

What happened afterword?

Gibson killed Cakewalk. (I'll assume for fun that your question was genuine interest and not a snarky, low, underhanded way to take a dig at a former Gibson manager and Cakewalk uber-user who contributed immensely to the Cakewalk community).
Also, FWIW the same process also sank Craig.

Cakewalk is doing great. Support...not so great right now, but I've been following what's going on. They're hiring more people so help is on the way after they're trained.

There are definitely people with legitimate issues that need to be addressed, but I've also gotten PMs from people venting about support and what they're asking about is more along "how to" lines. Cakewalk's support isn't really intended to teach people how to mix, or how to use Matrix view, or whatever; it's intended for people who are having problems with the program itself.

Grow up, you are not the only one who lost out or the only one who is upset.
Maybe we should all cry at once.

Lifetime updates was the same price as a years worth of updates.
We got 15 months.

You're assuming everyone bought the Lifetime plan the same day you did.

I've touched on this elsewhere, and that's enough. I realize people would like a nice, simple answer, but there were multiple factors. I will always think that if my proposed solutions had not been ignored Cakewalk would still be around, but it's just as possible that what I thought were solutions would have sunk Cakewalk faster.

Okay.. 12 months. does that make a difference ?
A years worth of updates were the same price as Lifetime updates. No one lost money.
Cakewalk simply didn't hold up their end of the bargain.

Unless of course you can explain your theory ?
I'd love to hear it.

The way I see it, is that I got almost 3 years of updates for one payment of "Lifetime Splat" (@AudioDeluxe = $168.99).

I was still sitting on Sonar X3 Producer since upgrade in December 2014 (it was at end of development then).  So at the Platinum lifetime upgrade time in August 2016, I got all of the rolled up new features in Platinum released since 2015.  That was huge!!!

Then I got all remaining monthly Platinum updates until October 2017.  Not too bad, if you look at the big picture!!!

Of course, I am heartbroken that the product that I started out with 20 years ago, and has been with me for two decades, is no longer being supported and developed.

I had assumed that Cakewalk would be around for years to come... so I am sorry to see them go ... but no, I don't feel ripped off in the least!!!
