Have people ever heard of archiving their purchases?  I can install Sonar 7 if I want.  When you pay a lot of money for something downloaded and put the exes. and codes on a separate drive.

That is not the OP's problem. Cannot archive what has yet to be purchased.

I completely agree, but that's hardly relevant here. Maybe you have posted in the wrong thread.

X3 and newer do not have physical media.

scook
X2 was the last version to ship on disk.

Like Steve said, X2 was the last version to ship on a DVD

Wrong, wrong and wrong.

X3 was indeed released with physical media (4x DVD)

Yay.....finally I get one right and scook doesn't............

Well it made me think so I had to go and check and you're absolutely right.
What is curious is that my X2 discs aren't on the shelf.
The others are all neatly lined up from 6PE onwards, but no X2

And to add to the thread title. I haven't looked, but I would imagine the Torrents are just the legally available Demo which you still would need the purchase the activation.

OK I realize this is NOT the ops issue,
But, like KiteKrazy1, I will never understand why people do NOT save all the versions, etc.
Especially something as important as Daw software. As cheap as ext storage, etc is these days.
I save everything.
Sorry, wish I had an answer for the op though.

So don't I.
I actually have back ups of back ups. In case one fails.
And if those back ups ever fail, I still have a hard copy to fall back on (which is the installers and content burned on to disk.

Sorry I know this isn't the OP's problem and I wish I could offer a solution but I haven't got one.

A torrent-site is a very good idea - when the servers are down and you cannot activate your livetime licence.
