I PRAY I can get an answer on this. I use Sonar, Samplitude ProX12, Audition 1.5 to mix my wav files. The problem is when I get them sounding the way I want them to, then test them on Windows Media Player it sounds like I added 10X's the amount of reverb that I actually did. I NEVER had this problem before. Any MSoft Audio Developers here? KC

In your media player settings (not sure what version you are using) check that you don't have the SRS Wow effect enabled.

Great Idea! However, I can't remember where that feature is in the application. Can ya hep me, Pal? KC

Right-click in Windows Media player and check Enhancement section. Could be a combination of the audio setting there. Of, if you have a different set of speakers attached to the PC running off the internal sound card, check the sound card settings for enhancements on the properties tab.

It's probably fortuitous that you had this opportunity to hear your mix the way someone else is bound to hear it eventually. That excessive reverb is likely the result of compression and/or EQ, and most car stereos and boomboxes pull those tricks too. You may decide to start mixing a little drier in self-defense.

In your signature you don't list any studio monitors.

It's a common issue for folks mixing on so so systems to have a little trouble getting it "right"

But I totaly agree with Bit, you need to proof your mixes in the real world.

Still awaiting your response in one or other of your two earlier threads about your drum map issue.  Were any of the suggestions relevant?  Please tell.

Kev999 Sorry I've been behind the 8 ball lately. Thankfully, I DID get the Win Media Player working properly. UNfortunately, I haven't gotten the Drum Map issue solved. I've even tried Hydrogen, but oddly that doesn't have VST capability. I'd REALLY like to get Dim Pro 1.5 to work using 3-4 instances, but nothing I've tried works; and I've done EVERYTHING suggested EXACTLY. Let me know if you have anything new to check. KC
