  • Will X1 64-bit be able to bridge 32-bit Rewire?

Reaper 64 is capable of wrapping 32-bit Rewire, which is wonderful because I can use a single 64-bit program without having to worry about whether or not I want to use Reason at some point later on in the production.  Geez, I shoulda used the 32-bit version of Sonar

Anyway, does anyone know if this has been addressed?

Thanks,
J

Since there's no answer to this, I'll ask if anybody is using the Rewire VST with X1 or 8.5 for that matter.  Please let us know if it's worth it and if it works flawlessly with Ableton Live & Reason.

Nope.

I still have both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of X1 installed, just like with 8.5, ONLY needing the 32-bit for using ReWire devices.

Sucks. And it's annoying.

To be fair, the greater responsibility is on Propellerheads to make a 64-bit-compliant ReWire, but that isn't to say there aren't things Cakewalk could develop on their end.

There is a VST plugin that enables Rewire in Sonar x64 which can be download here: http://www.energy-xt.com/index.php?id=0115 .  I have used it to Rewire Sieblius to X1 x64 and it worked quite well.
