I haven't done this in years but according to the x2 ref guide I just right click on a midi track and select "import midi" but when I select a .mid file/sequence (this particular one is called Rosie in the old drag and drop drummer folder) nothing happens.
If I open windows explorer and drag onto the track I see the + sign and everything but nothing appears on the track or PRV.
Any thoughts?
Thanks very much,
Randy

I did a test, did not see any problem.

Imported Rosie8.mid, can see notes in the PRV.

The + sign you see means your in Offset Mode. so you may want to disable that, unless you want your project in offset mode.

@ CJ- I had put it in offset mode to change an overall volume envelope and didn't turn it back...is leaving it in offset mode a bad idea? I ask because in my video NLE I sometimes use "auto ripple" as a convenience but if I forget to turn that feature off as soon as I get through using it I can wind up with a mess later.

@ both of you...I found a (added) midi track down at the bottom of all my tracks that have some midi data on it (and looks like a drum beat) but nothing shows up in the PRV (I made sure that track was in the track pane).
Then I dragged the clips to my drum track and can hear it play fine but it still doesn't show up in the PRV....fast forward to later...this didn't make sense at all so I showed all the tracks in PRV and still had nothing showing...I can now though and here's the whole ordeal:
It started not just with me trying to drag and/or import the mid files but also had the now time scrolling off screen and hitting scroll lock button didn't help...long story short....I closed the PRV view and re-opened and all is well...even the newly imported data....anyway, I guess all is well now.
Thanks very much guys,
Randy
