Sometimes I monitor recordings with Concrete limiter on then drop it while I mix.

don't want to fight or wine as everyone here is for the concrete lim, but my 1.0 version of concrete limiter is not so good.
sounds great at first, but then hearing it back later noticed the 'life' getting out of the beat too much -> to my ears that is.
only trying to help...so if you want, send me an mp3 and I"ll send you back a version with Boost 11 and 1 with Concrete, you can choose then.

just my opinion, respecting others.

It sounds great and if it doesn't for you its likely that it is not setup right. The CL is at version 1.0.1 BTW.

Too compare Boost 11 to the CL is like a Tanka toy to a real truck.

When CW added it it was due to some members asking for it because they saw it in Home Studio or some such. Yes CW did offeris for sale but they had no plans to include it with Sonar until the forum erupted over the issue. It was not a good quality limiter but meant as a cheap free included plugin for their lessor offerings. Much like the Studio Instruments.

My thought as a joke was to call Boost 11 the Spinal Tap plugin.

The Concrete Limiter is completely different and is meant to be used like most PC modules on every buss and track if needed. It is a low CPU user yet is of the very highest quality.

It is my favorite PC module.

had the old version, now upgraded to CL 1.01 (version number on downloadpage, CL downloaded still shows 1.0 ?).
Noticed a change, the instant compressing when turned on & no boost set....now less but still there in my opinion. I hear and see in the peak leds the sound is changed below limit, a little boost but sounds better now.
Only writing what I hear / see, trying to help like others help me.

If you're after transparent sound CL works very well as long as you do not use the bass boost.

Hate to appear stupid but, where do I check to see what version my Concrete Limiter is? Can't seem to find it anywhere!

Right-click on the CL GUI to bring up the "About" popup menu. Click on "About" popup menu to see the version info.

no worries, if you go to the CL download on your computer, not in Sonar...
Hope you remember where you saved it, or do a search in windows to find it) you can rightclick and go to details tab, There you see the version.
In your own online cakewalk page, you probably have the 1.01 version for you to download.
Reinstalling was breeze here.

good luck.

Ha ha! Got it! Thanks!
Trying to decide if I can live with the Concrete Limiter or if I'm gonna have to spring for Sonnox Oxford Limiter and it's dreaded iLok! Doing some major A/B'ing and critical listening here.
