Hello,

I need to make an into to a song with the sound of a standard mobile phone keytone.
How can I do that? Is there a synth with a preset to do it?
Or if I want to emulate it using a vst, how do I do it?

Thanks

Why not stick a microphone up & record your own phone?

Thanks Briston,
I need it to be a vsti com I need to play an original tune with it. I am sure it is easy to make with a synth but I don’t how to do it and don’t have the time to program it.

You could Google for ring tones and edit the file to the individual tone you are looking for.

I included a result from a search on Google for:

mobile phone key tone sample download

http://www.pond5.com/sound-effects/1/cell-phone-keypad-keypad-tone.html

There were six million results returned for the above search.

I still however vote for just recording your phone, or another with the sound you are looking for, using Sonar and a microphone.

This may be a good resource: http://www.dialabc.com/sound/generate/index.html?pnum=1234567890&auFormat=wavpcm8&toneLength=300&mtcontinue=Generate+DTMF+Tones

I just generated 1234567890 and listened to the series.

You can cut it up and place each tone in to Session Drummer 3 and play them back at whim on your kontrol pad.

best regards,

Sound Forge also has a built-in DTMF/MF tone generator, if you happen to have that software.

Hi, thank you all.
I did not have the time to get back here then and thank you guys for all your input.

This is what I did:
1- I found the keytone I liked in a free sounds website (the particular sound was i F);
2- Edited it Sound Forge;
3- Loaded it into Cyclone and transposed some of them to built my scale;
(The only thing here is that you have to play in C because you can’t map the samples to # or b.
But it worked just fine
