Bob, this is for the upgrade. It's 600$ otherwise.
Or if you own a competitor's product, but Sonar isn't one of them (no surprise).
Hi, Paul. I am not sure that is correct.
The Finale sale IS for upgrading from certain products, BUT one of those products that qualifies it is a FREE product from Finale, so to the best of my knowledge one could download the FREE Finale NotePad software today, and qualify for the update to get Finale for the $99 sale price, which expires TODAY.
Here is the link from Finale, showing that you can download Finale Notepad 2012 for free:
http://www.finalemusic.com/products/finale-notepad/ The email I received from Finale gave me a Promo Code to enter 'Finale12' and EXPLICITLY indicated that until midnight tonight as a Notepad 2012 owner (of the free Notepad 2012), I was eligible to upgrade to Finale 2012 at the $99 'Trade Up' price.
Here is the text from the email, on the above point:
[id="yui_3_7_2_1_1368360963260_2169"]OWN FINALE FOR $99.95
3 DAY SALE —
[id="yui_3_7_2_1_1368360963260_2165"]
Offer expires at Midnight CST
Sunday, May 12th, 2013 [id="yui_3_7_2_1_1368360963260_2132"]This exclusive email offer is only available to NotePad customers.
For a limited time, owners of Finale NotePad can trade up to Finale 2012, for just $99.95.
All the music you are comfortable creating in NotePad can be created in Finale — Finale just offers more options and flexibility.
Please review the above to make sure, but to the best of my knowledge, this deal IS available, I have it sitting in my shopping cart.
IF I can get one of my buddies or the ex to give me $99 to make this purchase today, I will indeed do so, and will post back IMMEDIATELY if it truly does let me do the deal for the $99 - it's shopping cart is honoring the upgrade deal, I just have to make sure it will let me install it after making the purchase. If it doesn't I should have a reasonable discussion point with Finale, based on the text of the email they sent me about the deal, but if it DOES all work, I am hoping that some of you guys struggling with the Sonar Staff View's current condition can benefit from it.
