How do I export my tracks for Roland Fantom x8 keyboard to Sonar x1. Are there video out there? Please help!!! This has been really hard and I am working on sessions. I seen video on how to sample to two track mix to get it into computer but i need to know how to get the tracks out one at a time in correct time into a sonar session for more recording and editing.. Please advise

Its quite simple you simply record them. A sound module triggered by MIDI is just like recording an instrument only its always a direct record. No mic is needed. Set up an audio track to record the output from your Fantom. I would record each patch on a different track in Sonar.

I got you on that but I want to be able to hook the keyboard up to the computer and dump all the wave files in time into sonarx1 at one time and its cool if its in midi format b cause I could just convert it. Right?.

In the manual it says you can write data to the memory cards... Writing data to the card Patches, rhythm sets, performances, samples, and song data can be written to the card. For details on the writing procedure, refer to the explanation for the corresponding parameters. Info about saving songs is on page 200. http://media.rolandus.com...FANTOM-X6_X7_X8_OM.pdf

You have to put the Fantom in storage mode and transfer them using the USB connection. Check YouTube for a video or read the Owner's Manual.

Why would you want to do that? Also its not possible.

The way to work with a hardware sound module whether it has a keyboard or not is use Sonar to trigger the patches on the module as if it were a soft synth with MIDI and have an audio track armed to record the audio coming from the module.

You can dump the Fantom setup with a sysex dump. That will not dump the ROM on the module. The ROMs on Roland sound modules are protected.
