I haven't used Z3TA in a while and it was working fine before. Tonight I used one of its presets on a track, and every now and then when I hit play, the sound will just be totally dead, as if it's had all of the sustain and volume squeezed out of it. If I load the next preset and then come back to the previous one, it's working again. I'm not touching any of the parameters in the meantime, and as far as I can see none of the parameters in the preset are changing by themselves. The master volume doesn't make any difference - if I crank it up full the volume is still dead.

Any idea what this could be? Happens with every preset I try.

Hi Sharke,

This sometimes happens to me using Absynth and it is down to a controller being reset to zero when the song re-starts. So everything is fine first, but if I stop, and then re-start the song a parameter gets zero'd.

All I end up doing is either editing the particular patch so that the controller is no longer available (cutoff frequency is the usual culprit) or I add automation in order to set the level of the controller. In Absynth I'm able to watch the state of each of the controllers and see which one is being affected.

I must admit that I've not come across this in Z3TA though so I could be barking up the wrong tree.

Couldn't you fix that just by unchecking "return controllers to zero" in the MIDI settings?

Unfortunately that didn't do it for me. Something very strange was going on. First I replaced Z3TA with another synth to see if the problem was Z3TA related. The other synth worked fine. So I reloaded Z3TA, and things had gotten worse. The long sustained chords I had were spluttering midway, then plunging in pitch. Didn't matter which preset I loaded. Even worse, the kick drum of the Battery drum pattern I had on another track started playing extra hits that weren't in the MIDI track. It's like the whole project was corrupted.

So I reloaded it, deleted the Z3TA track and started again. So far it seems fine. But that was really weird.

Hmmm... yeah dood, that's weird.

As for the zero controllers setting, I prefer to return controllers to zero really and I'm happy with my workaround
