  • New PRV: Making all velocities uniform?

In the old PRV, all one had to do was draw a diagonal line across the velocity pane and you get the same velocity for all the notes you've selected.

In the new one, the GUI has changed, and changing individual velocities means you mouse-over the note event until you see the velocity level icon and move the mouse up and down accordingly.

But how do you get uniform velocity levels in the new PRV? I can't seem to figure it out, though I'm sure there has to be a way...

the easiest way to accomplish this is to hi-lite the clip
then every note you move, all the notes move.
I would drag any note to max velocity (127) then back off to the velocity level you want. once you maximize one velocity, they'll all be maxed.
this way everything is at the same velocity.
sure there are other ways to do this, but imo, easiest for me.

I think you should be able to do that in the Event Inspector or the PRV Controller Pane (Shift+Drag).

You haven't switched to the Draw Line tool after selecting the notes, have you? I selected some notes and drew a straight line in the velocity pane just now and it worked.
I'd recommend Event Inspector, too, though.

The easiest way for me is select the data (can be in track view or PRV), then in the process menu use Scale Velocity (there is probably a shortcut for this), set both begin and end velocities to the desired level and click OK.  You can also scale velocities by a percentage of the original values which can be useful.

There is also a cal script that lets you set minimum and maximum velocity for the selected notes. I set this up (in keybindings) to a shortcut key - then I can easily set the min and max velocity to something like 100.

The event inspector is probably easiest. Select all and then enter the velocity as a figure. That will change them all to that level. To maintain relevant differences enter the figure preceded by either a "-" or "+" depending on whether you are increasing or decreasing levels.

The Cal scripts can work well for a (fairly) random change.

The Event Inspector can do this very easily. Check out this free video...

LOL! Sorry, Steve. Spring is here and now I spend most of my time fishing.

I wish!
