  • Finding last event in a larger project

I have a project, admittedly in X1d, that for some reason has an end time of "god knows how long".
I can't even shrink the project enough horizontally to see the last node of an automation line or anything.

I definitely do not have any recorded audio beyond the end of the song (4 mins tops), as there are no tracks that show the leading dots in the background when there is an audio clip further down the timeline.

Is there a way to quickly find the last event in a project?  I have 60-someodd tracks so going through the event list will take forever since it's not sortable by time.

Select all tracks (ctrl+A) and open the Event List. Goto the very last item in that view. See if it is out of the normal time range.  Then if it is delete it.

I did this, and perhaps there are different ways to view events, but my Event List was sorted first by track.  When you have a 4 minute song with 60+ tracks, the event list is too much of a jumble when ordered by track first.

I will check again.  Perhaps I misread.
thanks!

It still has to be time based too. Again go to the very last event.

If john's suggestion doesn't work, what happens if you hit ctrl + end?

Whereabouts does your Now time go?

John, track based first then time based. So I have to look at a ton of events to find one that looks out of place or larger than normal. If it wasn't more work than it was worth I'd have done it for sure. Seems easy, but I swear it's a pita.

Bristol, good call I'll try that and see. I just shrunk the horizontal ruler to check er out and wasn't able to see the end node of my automation filter. I'll give your shortcut a shot and hopefully it'll give me a decent starting point (or ending point... haha)
