Just report it as "Spam - Urgent" and then move on.

If you post a reply in their threads, it not only shoots it straight back to the top of the forum, but it notifies the scum that posted it that it's attracted some attention. They're not worried in the least about you telling them that you've reported them, it's more a case of "any publicity is good publicity".

Well said.  I just hope people take this advice.

I agree, but spam posts will continue until a process is in place to dump them quickly.

Spammers know their posts will remain for days, so there's no incentive to not keep polluting the forum(s).
Currently, spam posts remain long after they are reported.

Sux, though.
Of the handful of forums I frequent, this is the only one that has this problem.

This is the exact thing to do. I never (well you know) respond to spam I just report it when the option is available. And I try really hard to not get into the GP type threads. Any response is the wrong thing to do (IMO) it merely lengthens the misery.

Agreed. As a Mod elsewhere, the instruction is always report and avoid commenting further. It sinks faster that way if the mods do take a little time to get to it.

Cake needs to make one of the regulars here a Mod so they can delete the spam in a timely manner...since the regular Mods don't frequent the forum much anymore...or so it seems.

It might no be a bad idea to have a new forum for promotional announcments from third party VST and sample providers, posts happen in the software forum and are tolerated, but do annoy some users.  Fake driving licence providers, kitchen salesmen and video converter software hawkers need not apply.

Only goes further to confirm how poor the forum is in general.

You still cannot even post a message from a Android device... Well I guess Android hasn't really caught on yet, has it. (Jeeez)
