Thanks for replies. So did more investigating and its very very interesting. Its as bit flipper say a plugin design phenomenon. This has been bugging me in my mixes in Sonar.
If you take Sonitus or Lexicon reverb and input on only L channel it spreads it across L&R. You can see it in the plugin i/p and o/p meters. However if you use Perfect Space it doesn't. So if you want to control multiple sends from your pans send knobs, make sure the plugin does not smear it with no control.
I tested all of mine. If you want to use the following plugins on a reverb bus and control the pan from the knob on the channel send, then do not use Sonitus reverb, Lexicon or Breverb. However my 3rd party plugins, early cakewalk and Perfect space don't.
I can't think of why you would want to have a reverb that just smears across the whole L to R lanscape with no control over it. As far as I'm concerened the above packaged reverbs in Sonar are not fit for purpose on a bus, only on a individual track basis.
