Likely a silly question but...

I'm trying to apply some EQ to a track in Sonar Producer 8.5.  The track is a kick drum which only strikes a few times in the song, so I'd like to take just 1 of the notes and loop it over and over while I'm messing around with the EQ settings. Short of copy / paste it 100 times in a row, is there a way to split it on either side and just have it play over and over while I EQ it?  Thanks in advance,

Shaun

Groove clip it and drag. Or put it in a sampler and play it with your keyboard how you like.

If you select the clip or the time you want to repeat, turn on looping at the top of the screen and away you go.

+1.
This allows you to focus on a specific area, without adding something you'll need to remove later.

Just to expand upon Roger's advice...

Drag your mouse along the timeline to highlight the section you want to loop. Then click the loop button in the toolbar. It will set the loop points to the current selection, but you can drag the start and end markers if you need to make the looped region smaller or larger.
If you've customized your toolbar such that the loop buttons aren't there, you can perform the same actions via the right-click context menu on the timeline.

Unsolicited advice...for auditioning effects, it's best to leave a little quiet time before and after the sample. Also don't forget to listen in context, as what sounds great in solo may not be what best suits the full mix. I like to stick an instance of SPAN when doing this, so I can quickly see where the bulk of the low end energy resides, as well as what upper-end sounds are available to play with.

When I have highlighted the timeline range that I want to loop, I use shift+l to enable looping and then use L to flip looping on and off as I want.
